Build a Reorder Page in the Shopify Customer Account

For anything customers buy more than once, food, supplements, skincare, coffee, the easiest sale is the second one. A reorder page shows what they have bought before and lets them buy it again in a click.

Why a reorder page works

  • Customers do not have to search for the product again or remember the exact variant.
  • It shortens the path from login to checkout.
  • It works best for consumables and repeat-purchase products.
  • It makes the account a place people return to, not just a receipts page.

What the page shows

  • Each product the customer has bought before, with its image and name.
  • A View Product button that opens the product page.
  • A Reorder button that sends them straight to checkout with that item.
  • An Add Product card at the end that leads to the shop for something new.

Details that matter

  • Deduplicate products: if someone bought the same item five times, show it once.
  • Break bundles into their individual products, so customers can reorder the part they actually use.
  • Use the variant's own image where there is one, so the right size or flavour shows.
  • Handle discontinued or out-of-stock items gracefully instead of showing a broken button.
  • Let the store team add a banner or text at the top from the admin, for offers or seasonal messages.

Tie it to email

The reorder page pairs with replenishment emails. When a reminder arrives near the time a product usually runs out, the link can send the customer to the same reorder experience. See our post-purchase flow guide and win-back flow guide.

Measure it

  • Repeat purchase rate and time between orders for customers who use the page.
  • Reorder clicks and completed orders from the page.
  • Revenue per customer before and after launch, allowing for seasonality.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a reorder button in the Shopify customer account?
Build a customer account page extension that reads the customer's past orders and links each product to a cart or checkout URL for that variant.
Does a reorder page increase repeat purchases?
It removes friction for products people buy again, which can help repeat purchase rate. Measure it against your own repeat rate before and after launch.
Can I reorder bundles in one click?
You can, but showing the individual products inside a bundle usually gives customers more control. The right choice depends on how you sell the bundle.
